The Freelance Rant was created as a creative outlet to share the typical life as a freelancer. There are many positives and negatives and joys and frustrations we experience in this career field and I hope to bring those to light either by educating or having a good ol’ laugh. We don’t have to be serious 100% of the time you know.
Some of you may have come here looking for advice. Awesome, have a look around. You’ll find it here or there.
Some of you may have come here after hearing about the new freelancing site on the block. Welcome. Enjoy yourself here.
The rest of you may have ended up here thinking what the f#@k is this s#%t that I am writing. Well, what can I say? It is what it is.
Either way, I sincerely hope you find this website useful and entertaining.
As for me, I am the editor Johnny Spence, a freelance web programmer with eight years experience in the biz. My story in a nutshell… after eight years of undergraduate studies (which was finished, by the way) and wondering what to do, I worked for a software company for a short while. While it wasn’t a bad place to work, I quickly learned that the whole job with a boss thing just ain’t for me.
Fast forward eight years and I haven’t looked back at all. I wouldn’t say it was all easy, but I’m a freelancer to stay. I sincerely hope that you enjoy and find this website useful and if you have any questions, comments or even suggestions please feel free to drop me a line at johnny at freelancerant dot com or by using the contact form.
